This famously sweet, lemon liqueur originates from the Gulf of Naples, probably because they grow the biggest lemons anyone has ever seen. Typically enjoyed after a meal as a digestive, there is no better place to enjoy a shot of limoncello than Capri, and Da Paolino offers the perfect backdrop for sipping under the lemon trees.

It's clear that lemons are abundant in Capri. So when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Nothing beats fresh lemonade from this roadside stand on the island of Capri. Squeezed right in front of you with real sugar, just add some mint or orange peel for a refreshing twist on a classic, or try their amazing lemon slushies. It’s the perfect pit-stop on a hot day as you make your way to the famed Augustus Gardens.

Insalata Caprese

A staple on nearly every menu in Capri. As its name hints, this simple salad of mozzarella cheese, basil and fresh tomatoes originated from this island. You can get some of the best Insalata Caprese from Michel'angelo Ristorante in the main town of Campania, which even features a Mozzarella Bar (offering a range of tasty, locally sourced cheeses) and offers cooking classes to those looking to immerse themselves in the Caprese lifestyle.

What's a visit to an island without some fresh seafood? Mussels, clams, calamari, octopus and even sea urchin are not hard to find. Go big when in Capri and order this dish for a healthy dosing of all the best "fruit of the sea” served over pasta in a light red sauce. Ristorante Isidoro provides a hearty serving best to share, and offers some of the best tableside views. With two floors and a rooftop terrace, you’ll get unobstructed views of the Sea, the Bay and the bell tower.

Neapolitan Pizza

The traditionally thin-crust pizza that is native to the region of Naples carried across the waters to Capri, with many restaurants and pizzettas serving up the distinctive pies. But none beats the Neapolitan-style pizza from Aurora Pizza, a hot-spot for celebrities visiting the island, like Jay-Z and Beyonce. Aurora isn’t shy to boast which famed personalities have frequented their charming dining area, with pictures of each notable guest at the restaurant hanging on the walls. Dine among the stars while enjoying pizza and listening to Italian music.

Flourless chocolate cake is actually a traditional dessert from Capri. Torta Caprese is a decadent chocolate and almond cake dusted with powdered sugar, and best paired with vanilla gelato (and espresso martinis from Al Piccola Bar). Stop by Al Piccola Bar, right in the heart of Campania’s main piazza, for a midday snack after spending hours shopping, or after dinner for this sweet bite and the customary espresso.

Gelato Waffle Cones

Gelato in Italy is amazing, but gelato on a freshly-made waffle cone is out of this world. As you weave in and out of the streets of Capri, you can smell the cones being made at Buonocore Gelateria. It's intoxicating, and will draw you right into this little shop. You can watch them make the waffle cones right in front of you, made to order and served hot off the griddle then filled with your choice of creamy, cold gelato.
