The stats are — well, they're still pretty dismal. To pick just one: Only about 16 percent of tech positions at tech companies are held by women. Helping to diversify the field is the ACT-W (Advancing the Careers of Technical Women) conference, happening tomorrow in SOMA. Attend presentations, network at a career fair, go in-depth in a personal coaching session, and polish up your resume or test your interview skills in workshops. Speakers and workshop leaders include software engineers, designers, recruiters, career coaches and entrepreneurs. All proceeds benefit STEM education programs for local high school girls through ChickTech. So you can pay it forward.

A conference focused on women in tech.
