All bars in San Francisco can be grouped into five buckets: neighborhoody, theme, dive, gastropub, mixology. (We welcome debate.) Rusted Mule, a loungy new spot in Nob Hill, is flouting our little categories by opting for all of the above. As you might have guessed, the cocktails are centered on Moscow mules. But just when you think you've got things figured out, you'll see there's also fernet, vermouth and kombucha on tap. You'll also find a short list of food options, lots of brick for that rustic feel, a long bar and large leather booths for hanging. You might suspect the globe lights are trying to entrance you, and you might be right. Grab a copper mug and go with it.

A laid-back bar focused on the Moscow mule and its variations.
You won't have to scream your way through a conversation.
