Of all the big-budget movies churned out every season, how many really stick with you weeks, months or years after you've left the theater? To be honest, we don't even remember all their names (sorry, Hollywood). Instead of seeing yet another sequel, remake or thoroughly meh flick, stimulate your brain and nourish your soul at the 19th annual SF IndieFest, happening February 2 to 16 at 518 Gallery, Alamo Drafthouse, Brava Theater and Roxie Theater. Some of the films on our radar? Rob Meyer's Little Boxes, a comedy about identity and race, and Cheer Up, a doc about a Finnish cheerleading team whose coach is sick of losing. The parties (Princess Bride bingo!) promise to be memorable, too.

SF IndieFest is dedicated to the best in independent cinema.
Short films, The Big Lebowski on stage, a conceptual documentary and so much more.
