Cuba is calling every wanderlust-infected American now that a decades-long travel ban has been lifted. While the world sets its sights on Havana, Miami's art and design museum shines a spotlight on the winding relationship between two countries. Promising Paradise: Cuban Allure, American Seduction explores Havana's eternal mystique in the American mindset via posters, photographs and promotional ephemera. Ads promising a lost city drunk on rum and bathed in cigar smoke, photographs of scantily clad Tropicana dancers preparing for the cabaret, and glamorous images of iconic Hollywood celebrities span the length of this nostalgic exhibition.
