In L.A. we love cats so much that we dedicate valuable internet time to watching P22, the young male cougar, roam the 4,300 urban acres of Griffith Park. With his Instagram popularity and charming personality, it's tempting to think he'd be a great addition to the family. But given his diet of brush-fed rabbits, we advise sticking to smaller felines. At Best Friends of Los Angeles' annual Kitten Shower, you can play with tons of kittens, tour the nursery, have cake and punch, and learn about volunteering on-site or fostering teeny, tiny, furry babies. With a lot of TLC from kind folks, these mini poofballs will grow up to believe they're just as sleek and fierce as a mountain lion.

Best Friends is hosting a kitten shower to welcome new babies to its nursery.
For a $5 donation, you can help name the kittens something more thoughtful than P22.
