In our town, stars and restaurants have one thing in common: They can go from everyone's fave to faded, fast. So it's more than a little impressive that the famed, almost century-old steakhouse Musso & Frank still serves bone-dry martinis and juicy filets steps from the Dolby Theater, the current home of the Academy Awards ceremony. Instead of watching the telecast like sensible Angelenos, head to the restaurant, throw back a few highballs (with a rib eye chaser), and then saunter on over to catch the red-carpet arrivals at Highland and Hollywood. You may just be tipsy enough to loudly declare your undying love for Best Actress nominee Meryl Streep, who will never go out of style.

A classic steakhouse where you can grab an early meal before catching the Oscars red carpet action IRL.
If you valet your car, they'll hold onto it for another hour or two after your dinner so you can gawk at stars. (Required reminder: Bring a DD.)
