Let's just put it out there — London loves Thai food. Now that the proclamation has been made, we can all relax and get down to business. Farang has been around for quite some time in the form of supper clubs and market stalls, but chef Seb Holmes (previously of Smoking Goat and Begging Bowl) decided to give his project a six-month residency at San Daniele in Highbury. Expect nothing less than imaginative, original Thai plates like Cornish mussels in a coconut, green curry and sweet basil broth, and a 'jungle curry' of fresh dayboat fish. For those with a sweet tooth, homemade cashew praline with green tea ice cream will probably do it. The love story continues.

A must-try Thai food pop-up in Highbury.
Crispy vegetable won tons with burnt chili dipping sauce, the end.
San Daniele, 72 Highbury Park, Highbury, North London, N5 2XE
6-month residency. Weds.-Sat., 5:30-10:30 p.m.; Sun., 1-5 p.m.

Wanderlust infected foodie with a passion for words, a soft spot for theatre, an infatuation for jazz bars and a healthy addiction for cocktails. I have been on a steady relationship with London for the past 5 years despite having a fling with New York last Christmas. You'll probably find me in the backstreets of Soho trying out a new ramen restaurant or a cloak-and-dagger speakeasy.
