Braamfontein-based artist Nicola Taylor has created a loyal following with her charcoal-on-cotton paper and oil-on-canvas prints and paintings. Her current exhibition, Come Together Fall Apart, at the Everard Read gallery in Rosebank, is about to incorporate even more devotees into her existing fold. Nature and the human condition — and the two's ongoing, interchanging relationship — remain strong themes in her current work. But in this exhibition, she also experiments with adding a third dimension, by use of glass, which further speaks to her incredible ability to convey thoughts, feelings, and expressions. Were this theatre, she'd get a standing ovation from us for sure.
