After the storm comes the calm. Or does it come before the storm? Either way, Hurakán offers a bit of a both. At once a chic breakfast-and-lunch diner and a hip exhibition spot for local artists, Hurakán makes use of the old home in which it resides, with the foyer being the main dining area. Classic Mexican cuisine is on the menu, with a rotating daily selection of the comida corrida for a fair price. Along the walls of the restored space are paintings, photos, sketches, collages and more, all with a distinctly contemporary Mexican flair. On certain nights, Hurakán stays open into the evening and welcomes live music and cocktails, including fresh mojitos and aguas locas.

A sweet little eatery doubling as a gallery space and occasional venue.
