Oops, had our scout splashed her beer into our plates while carrying them back? We took another mouthful – yes, there was definitely a yeasty note lurking among the spices in this chili. We turned to ask her, and learned that this entry in Bubba's Chili Cook-Off does indeed contain a liberal dash of lager, for the very fitting reason that it's cooked up by the girls from Pub Crawl Shanghai. Megan, Jo, Liz and Lea are among some two-dozen teams competing for the title of best chili-makers in the land, and we spectators get to sample all the fiery brews we can manage before we cry off.
