Bagpipes and Spain. At first these words might seem like they have no business being in the same sentence, but it's a little-known fact that northwest Spain is home to a Celtic community with its own form of bagpipes. You can experience these enchanting melodies firsthand when Spanish bagpipe maestro Carlos Núñez visits Vancouver in early April. Fusing Spanish fire and Celtic energy, this show will explore the Celtic roots of Spain's Atlantic corridor. Beyond the Galician bagpipes, Núñez is also a master of the recorder, pennywhistle, ocarina, bombarde, tin whistle, flute and more. Expect one exhilarating performance that melds ancient history with modern style.
