Even Hollywood often gets things wrong — remember #OscarsSoWhite? That's why the International Let's Cee film festival is so refreshing. Now in its sixth year, Let's Cee screens films, documentaries and shorts from Central and Eastern Europe, including the Caucasus region and Turkey. This is a rare opportunity to see stories about people who are not usually represented on the big screen. The weeklong festival includes workshops, master classes, lectures, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, panel discussions and parties. One movie that caught our eye in the Promising Debuts category is Dogs, director Bogdan Mirică's quiet art house thriller about how corruption still flourishes in Romania.
