Sometimes you just need to escape reality, if only for a few hours. What better way to wiggle out of your responsibilities than by joining the world of Pedro Almodóvar? El Cultural San Martín is a renovated underground theater that runs throwback film series. This February it'll be screening five early films by the Spanish master, all filled with his signature love for high drama, nostalgic soundtracks, bright colors and strong women. Films are played on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings and feature cult classics like Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! as well as the more obscure Matador. When you walk into the theater, check your cares at the door.
